JXCirrus Project Support

Known Issues

Upgrading from Lite to Full

If you start off with the Basic/Lite version of JXCirrus Project, then you may need to migrate your date out of the basic version and load it into the Full/Premium version.

On Windows, Linux

If you bought the full version from the JXCirrus website, then nothing needs to be done.   The new version of the app will install over the top of the old version.   When you start up, you should have your existing data already loaded.

This is the same if you bought JXCirrus Project from the JXCirrus website.

MacOS

The premium version of the app will be installed in a different location to the basic version, if you downloaded the Lite version from  from the Apple App Store.   To get the data loaded into the premium, you need to export out of the basic version, then import into the premium version.

NOTE: This is different to the user manual method.   Use this method, as there is an error that can occur when you use the method in the user manual.

  • Start up the basic version.

  • Choose File -> Export Full

  • Export to your Documents directory (and remember the name of the file you exported).

  • Close the basic version.

  • Start up the full/premium version.

  • Choose File -> Import

  • Go to the Documents directory, and select the file you just exported.

iOS

The premium version of the app stores its data in a different location to the basic version.   You need to export from the basic version and import into the full version.

  • Start up the basic version.

  • Go to Settings

  • Press the button "Export to JXCirrus Project full"

  • Start up the full version.

  • Go to Settings

  • Press the button "Import from JXCirrus Project basic"
